Biography: Susan B. Ward, MD


Dr Ward graduated from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Her 3 year residency in Internal Medicine was at the Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. Her 2 year fellowship in Rheumatology was completed from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. From there she joined the faculty and practiced Rheumatology in 1990 till 2001. She continues her Rheumatology practice in her office in Exton, PA.

She also has expertise in Osteoporosis, being the Associate Director of the Jefferson Osteoporosis Prevention and Out Patient Center until March 2001; at which time Dr. Ward opened her Rheumatology practice at the Arthritis Center of Chester County in Exton, PA. This is part of her Consciousness Institute that also opened its doors September 2001.

She is a fellow of The American College of Physicians (FACP) and a fellow of The American College of Rheumatology (FACR).

During her career she was the principal investigator for various multi center clinical trials with large pharmaceutical companies in hopes of finding better cures and management medications for her patients.

She wrote and submitted a substantial P-5O Center Grant to the National Institute of Health (NIH) looking at the efficiency of various complementary medicine modalities in Rheumatic Diseases. Part of this was funded and is being carried out at The Myrna Brind Integrative Medicine Center at Jefferson Hospital.

She has been recognized as "Top Doc" in the Philadelphia Magazine in 1998 and 2000.


Studies of the Ancient Scientific knowledge of the East

Dr Ward has knowledge of many of the Ancient Wisdom Traditions. Dr. Ward has traveled extensively and worked with masters in various Eastern Traditions, these include Kabbalistic, Tibetan, Vedic and Egyptian areas. Dr Ward has the ability to extract the hidden truths from the various traditions. She has an innate ability to translate and communicate these truths in terms of practices that are usable in the twenty-first century which she incorporates into her study of consciousness.

Dr Ward also had the opportunity to work with a U.S. trained physician who studied most of her career with an indigenous shaman, who worked with all of the naturally growing compounds of the area. Many of the plants have been collected and were sent to the N.I.H. for study.
